Special features regarding university sports

The university offers its own sports programme. Participation possible at: Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Hessian University of Applied Sciences (also known as Hessische Hochschule für Polizei und Verwaltung). Some courses are free of charge, some subject to fees. We have had 2 of our own sports facilities since 2021: A newly built fitness course with 10 stations on the KSR campus and a covered bouldering wall on the Rüsselsheim campus. Since the summer semester 22, the 120 sports courses have taken place predominantly in person again. There are plans to build a fitness area with modern equipment in cooperation with the city of Wiesbaden on the grounds of the outdoor and indoor swimming pool in the immediate vicinity of the university. In 2022, university sports hosted two German University Championships in golf and women's football. Sports: Fitness of every kind; Yoga; Swimming; Martial arts; Ball sports; Outdoor sports: Skiing, canoeing, sailing, SUP, surfing, cycling
